am the hirer of the beacon. I take full responsibility for its use and agree to pay for any wilful damage to the beacon.
2. In the event of accidental damage, I will inform the hiring outlet, and supply details of the accident for insurance purposes. Otherwise, I will be liable for repair costs.
3. I have read the operating instructions, Activate only in the event of grave and immediate danger. Once activated, stand it upright in as clear an area as possible. Rescue Co-0ordination Centre will be notified and SAR activated. Narrow valleys or ravines will reduce the ability of satellites or aircraft to detect the signal. Go to open, clear ground if possible.
4. If accidentally turned on, turn it off immediately and contact RCC on 0508472269 or advise police.
5. Gearshop, and any person involved with the distribution or manufacture cannot be held liable for any injury or loss of life to the hirer or any party member, as no warranty or of representation can be given or implied as to the effectiveness of the beacon or its operation because of the conditions in which it may be used.
6. Hirer must be over the age of 18 years.
7. No refunds for early returns.
8. I understand that I will be liable for any penalty imposed for improper use. I will pay the cost of the new battery and/or beacon if I damage or active it without due reason (exceptions are a life threatening medical condition or weather conditions requiring immediate evacuation).
