The Via Ferrata Climbing Gear kit consists of one harness with a shock-absorbing lanyard and a helmet.
There is no fee for climbing the Via Ferrata on Takaka Hill. It is publicly accessible and free for everyone to use.
The Via Ferrata was designed to be suitable for the everyday person - with families in mind. You don't need to have previous climbing experience. Anyone with a moderate fitness and a sense for adventure may attempt to climb it. Kids from the age of 12 seem to have great fun up there - though younger kids may still go if accompanied. We recommend a skilled caregiver to additionally belay any kids younger than 10.
Couldn't load pickup availability
* Make sure your rental fits the opening dates and hours of your chosen store. The gear must be returned to Gearshop on the day it is hired to either the Richmond or Bolt Road stores unless previously arranged. Late fees will apply if not returned on time.
